Wheelchair & NEMT Services
Wheelchair-accessible rides for appointments, treatment, and everyday medical travel — planned around you.

DeSoto Cab provides private wheelchair transportation and Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) throughout the Tri-Valley and East Bay. We help riders get to doctor appointments, dialysis, physical therapy, outpatient procedures, rehabilitation visits, and other scheduled care with a confirmed ride and a respectful, unhurried experience.
For a rider using a wheelchair, transportation is more than getting from one address to another. Our wheelchair-accessible service is planned around the passenger, the chair, the appointment time, and the trip home. Families, caregivers, senior communities, and care coordinators can call us to discuss the rider's needs before scheduling.
NEMT is for planned, non-emergency trips. DeSoto Cab does not provide ambulance transport, medical monitoring, or emergency care. If a passenger needs urgent medical help, call 911.
Medical Appointment Transportation
From a primary-care visit to a specialist consultation, we provide direct, private rides for scheduled medical appointments. Tell us the appointment time and location when you book so we can plan a pickup that allows time for a comfortable arrival.
Wheelchair-Accessible Transportation
Our wheelchair-accessible vehicles are used for riders who travel seated in a wheelchair. When you call, please share whether the wheelchair is manual or powered, its approximate size, and whether the passenger can transfer. That helps us confirm the right vehicle and trip plan.
Dialysis, Therapy & Recurring Trips
Regular care should not mean a different transportation problem every week. For dialysis transportation, physical therapy, infusion appointments, rehabilitation, and other ongoing visits, ask about scheduling repeat pickups and return rides around your treatment schedule.
Hospital, Clinic & Rehabilitation Discharges
A discharge pickup can require more coordination than a regular ride. We can help plan a ride from hospitals, outpatient centers, skilled nursing facilities, and rehabilitation locations when the passenger is cleared to travel by their care team. Please book ahead whenever possible.
Serving the Tri-Valley & East Bay
We provide NEMT and wheelchair transportation from Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore, San Ramon, Danville, Alamo, Sunol, Blackhawk, and nearby East Bay communities to local doctors, clinics, hospitals, therapy offices, and treatment centers.
A Simple Booking Conversation
A quick call lets us confirm pickup and destination addresses, appointment and return times, wheelchair needs, the number of passengers, and any caregiver traveling along. You receive a clear trip plan instead of hoping an on-demand ride can accommodate you at the last minute.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is NEMT, and is it for emergencies?
NEMT means Non-Emergency Medical Transportation: planned rides to and from medical care when an ambulance is not needed. It is not emergency transport and does not include medical care or monitoring. For an emergency, call 911.
Do you provide wheelchair transportation?
Yes. We provide wheelchair-accessible transportation when the appropriate vehicle is confirmed. Please tell us the wheelchair type, approximate size, whether it is powered, and whether the passenger can transfer when you call.
Which Tri-Valley cities do you serve for NEMT?
We serve Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore, San Ramon, Danville, Alamo, Sunol, Blackhawk, and surrounding East Bay communities. Call with your pickup and destination so we can confirm the trip.
Can I schedule recurring rides for dialysis or therapy?
Yes. Call 925-277-9999 to discuss recurring transportation for dialysis, therapy, rehabilitation, or other routine appointments. We can coordinate regular pickup and return times around your care schedule.
Can a caregiver, family member, or attendant ride along?
Caregivers and companions can generally ride with the passenger. Let us know the total number of riders when booking so we can confirm the right vehicle and seating.
Can you pick someone up after a hospital discharge?
Yes, for a non-emergency discharge when the care team has cleared the passenger to travel. Share the facility, discharge window, mobility needs, and destination when booking so we can plan the pickup appropriately.
How far ahead should I book wheelchair or medical transportation?
Booking ahead is best, especially for early appointments, recurring treatment, or hospital discharges. Same-day availability can vary, so calling as soon as you know the appointment gives us the best chance to confirm the right vehicle.
How much does wheelchair transportation or NEMT cost?
The fare depends on the pickup location, destination, trip timing, and transportation needs. Call 925-277-9999 with the trip details for a clear quote before you schedule.
